OurLeaders

Our church has some of the best leaders to help guide our souls in the ways of the Savior. With the wonderful leadership of Senior Pastor Ezekiel Pettway, Sr., and the ministers and deacons, Maggie Street has programs that help praise and worship the Lord and encourage us all to live faithful lives everyday.

We are also thankful to have Gloria Jackson who serves so faithfully as our church secretary and assists in many of our ministries.

EzekielPettway, Sr.

SENIOR PASTOR

Ezekiel Pettway, Sr., was born in Wilcox County, Alabama, and educated in its school system. Pastor Pettway is a man of many callings. In 1979, he answered the call to “Protect and Serve” his fellow countrymen through his dedicated service in the United States Armed Forces. He served for eleven years; eight years in the Army and three years in the Army National Guard. During his service to his country, he was called to minister the Gospel of Jesus Christ in 1984.

In his quest to fulfill his callings, he has traveled worldwide. In 2007, Pastor Pettway, Dr. A. Z. Holloway, Minister Courtney Meadows, and Sis. Freda Groves traveled to Zambia, Africa, where they ministered to thousands of souls. With brief stops at National Business College (Colorado), LyBette Community College and Selma University Theological Studies (Alabama), he received a B.S. Degree in Bible and Pastoral Ministry. He is also a member of John 17: Prayer Ministry; an elected Constable in Dallas County, Alabama District II; Vice-Chairman for Dallas County Democratic Executive Committee; Chaplain for Alabama Democratic Conference; and Chaplain for Historic Trail from Montgomery to Selma. Among his other accolades, he has received numerous awards from various organizations.

In August 2002, God saw need for vision, dedication, and unity in His master plan for Maggie Street Missionary Baptist Church. Once again, He called on Ezekiel Pettway, Sr. with a mission to take the Gospel to the whole city of Montgomery. Under his leadership, the 2.4 million dollar Dream Center came into fruition in September 2008.

Pastor Pettway is married to the former Pamela Dawn Johnson. In this marriage, God blessed them with three children: Ezekiel, Jr., Michelli, and SaSha’. He and his wife are the proud grandparents of six grandchildren.
