Ezekiel Pettway, Sr., was born in Wilcox County, Alabama, and educated in its school system. Pastor Pettway is a man of many callings. In 1979, he answered the call to “Protect and Serve” his fellow countrymen through his dedicated service in the United States Armed Forces. He served for eleven years; eight years in the Army and three years in the Army National Guard. During his service to his country, he was called to minister the Gospel of Jesus Christ in 1984.

Pamela D. Pettway is the former Pamela Jameson of Joplin, Missouri. She spent three years in the U. S. Army and she met Ezekiel while in Germany. They were married in 1982 in Fontana, California.

In 1987, they moved to Selma, Alabama. She was ordained as a minister by Bishop Richard B. Peoples in 2002. She stands alongside of her husband as they proclaim the Word of God at Maggie Street and is the Co-chair of the Women's Ministry along with Sis. Maggie Howard.
